Home visits should be requested before 11.00am so that they can be allocated accordingly.
In the time it takes to carry out one home visit, 3 to 4 patients could be seen face to face in the surgery. Therefore, we ask patients to only request a home visit if they have a medical condition that prevents them from being able to get to the surgery such as, those who are terminally ill, housebound/immobile and the severely frail.
Where possible it is much better to see patients in the surgery as GP’s then have access to patient’s full medical record and correct equipment for thorough examinations.
Visits are carried out between 11.30am and 3.00pm.
